FOR PEACE OF MIND!
For Peace of Mind

My goal is to provide my clients with "Peace of Mind".
To try to meet this goal requires a different package of services and pricing structure than most CPA firms.
I don't know of a single CPA who has ever felt good about having to charge a client a higher fee to try to correct a problem caused by something the client did without seeking advice first. Nobody is happy in such a situation.
The CPA often has to tell a client that he or she now owes a lot of taxes that could have been prevented. In addition, there may be a need for a lot of extra accounting work just to prepare the client's return, often during the busy tax season. The CPA usually discounts this work on the bill too.
The client isn't happy with the larger bill, the additional information the CPA usually requires from the client and the delay needed to do the extra work. There often is a much larger tax bill than there would have been if certain steps had been taken before the transaction causing the problem was completed.
Many times the entire problem could have been avoided with a simple phone call to the CPA. The client was trying to avoid a big bill and didn't know there was a problem in the first place - so disaster occured.
I believe my system will help minimize the cost of these disasters by eliminating as many of them as possible.
The first step in my system is my free initial consultation for prospective clients.

Prevention is the key!
Good communication is the way!
Hi!
Let me introduce myself. I am Carol Genrich and I am a Certified Public Accountant.
I prepared my first tax returns for clients 25 years ago.
Life was a lot simpler then. It was common to prepare tax returns manually. I wouldn't want to try that today!
Major changes in the tax laws occur several times a year now. It used to be that major changes happened every three years or so.
Now more than ever it is essential that taxpayers seek competent professional help if they are to minimize their taxes.
The most expensive tax preparer is the one who causes you to pay more taxes than you were legally required to, not the one that charges the most.
I have found over the years that many tax preparers concentrate on not missing any income that has been reported to the government on W-2's, 1099's and the like. To do so brings the government down on them in a hurry through its matching program.
These taxpayers are often happy because they didn't get a letter from the IRS demanding more payment. What they don't realize though, is that the qualified tax professional often earns their keep by also finding all the legal deductions. Not reporting these deductions won't bring the government down on your head. They will cause you to pay more tax than you need to though. You may never find out the true cost to you of having such a tax preparer.
The competent qualified tax professional really shines when she legally helps structure transactions to minimize the tax bite.
"Peace of Mind" is the assurance that not only is all the income reported as required, but all allowable deductions are taken too.
"Peace of Mind" is knowing someone is available to answer your questions throughout the year, whenever they arise. Good timely communication will prevent many problems before they occur.
"Peace of Mind" is also knowing there is no such thing as a "dumb" question when it comes to taxes.
"Peace of Mind" is knowing that if you get audited by the IRS or a state taxing authority, such as FTB in California, you have a qualified tax professional who can not only go with you, but who can actually represent you before the IRS and even go to their meetings in your stead.
These same concepts apply to all accounting services too. Tax laws are just more complex and are constantly changing.
Last year's solution could be this year's problem!
